What is a boudoir experience with Allison Darling ACTUALLY like?

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to book a boudoir session, then keep reading! There is so much misinformation and preconceived notions surrounding boudoir photoshoots that many times, women won’t book their own because of the stories they have heard or make up in their heads. I’d love to share feedback from a recent client surrounding her boudoir experience. (This was her first boudoir photoshoot ever!)

How did you feel before your boudoir session? What fears or hesitations, if any, did you have?

Before my session, I was SO nervous. I had never done a boudoir shoot before and thought there was no way I was going to be able to get in front of that camera feeling the way I did. I thought I would end up being so self-conscious and terrified of being in such a vulnerable state.

How do you feel now that your boudoir experience in complete?

My experience honestly left me speechless. Allison has a way of melting away all of your anxieties. She makes you feel extremely comfortable in your own skin and has a calming presence about her. My session made me feel beautiful in my own skin. I loved the confidence boost it ended up giving me and I can’t wait to schedule another session in the near future!

How was your boudoir experience different than you expected?
I went into my experience with the jitters, not thinking they would go away, but after the hair/makeup session and pulling out my outfit selections/ talking with Allison about my favorites, my anxiety faded. I quickly started getting excited about being in front of the camera and loved seeing the end product.

What do you want to say to people who think they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc.?
You CAN do this! If you aren’t nervous/ anxious about getting in front of the camera, I would be worried. It’s a normal response when you are in such a vulnerable situation, but it’s totally worth it. The confidence and self-love that you get from the entire experience will leave you feeling the need for more! It’s a once in a lifetime experience. Going through a boudoir shoot will leave you asking when you can come back for another. You won’t regret it, I promise.

What was your favorite part of the entire experience?

I don’t know that I can pick a favorite. It starts with Allison and her caring personality! She makes you feel so comfortable and loved throughout the entire experience and is your hype girl the whole way through! She helps you with poses, shows you images throughout your session on the back of her lens and truly just allows you to be yourself.

Anything else you would like to add?

I am so glad I decided to do this. It was WAY out of my comfort zone, but I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed the experience. I didn’t think there was anyway that I would enjoy the shoot as much as I did. The pampering I received was incredible and I left with so much confidence! I absolutely loved that I went through the session, enjoyed lunch and was invited back in the same day to see my images. The images were phenomenal and it even looked like me! Sometimes images are so edited that you don’t even recognize who you are, but Allison’s images are true-life. She is an all-around professional!
