Hey babe.
People ask me all the time what I actually do all day. And I get it – “boudoir photographer” sounds a little mysterious, maybe a little glamorous, maybe a little “wait, you do what for a living?”
So let me pull back the curtain. Here’s what a real day looks like over here. The coffee, the chaos, the happy tears, all of it.
Before anyone needs anything from me, I steal a little time for myself. Coffee in my favorite mug, a few minutes of quiet, and a scroll through the day ahead. Because I can’t pour into you if I’m running on empty. So I start every day filling my own cup first – literally and otherwise.

This is the part nobody posts about. Answering emails. Confirming tomorrow’s session. Editing galleries from last week – and babe, editing is where the love lives. I’m sitting there with your images, picking the ones that made you gasp, softening the light, making sure the woman in these photos feels exactly as incredible as she did in the room. It takes hours. I wouldn’t trade a single one.

Before you arrive, I’m fluffing pillows, steaming fabric, chasing the perfect pocket of window light. I light a candle. I cue up the playlist. I want you to walk in and exhale – to feel like you’ve stepped into a little world where the only thing on the agenda is you feeling amazing.
And here’s the moment my whole day is built around.

You walk in, and I can see it – the nerves, the “what am I even doing here,” the apology already forming on your lips about your arms or your tummy or the thing you’ve been picking apart in the mirror for years.
So we don’t jump straight to the camera. We talk. We laugh. Hair and makeup happens and you start to feel a little more like the main character. And slowly, slowly, I watch your shoulders come down from your ears.

This is it. This is the part I’d do for free (don’t tell anyone).
We start with something easy. I’m hyping you up the entire time – “okay, that’s gorgeous, do that again.” There’s usually a pose that feels completely ridiculous, and we both laugh about it, and it turns out to be the best shot of the day. Funny how that works.
And then it happens. You catch a peek at the back of my camera, and your whole face changes. “…that’s me?”
Yes, babe. That was always you.

The session wraps, and the woman walking out is not quite the same one who walked in nervous a few hours ago. She’s lighter. Taller, somehow. She came in apologizing for her body and she’s leaving a little bit in love with it.
That’s the job. The photos are just proof.
Then I trade my photographer hat for my regular-life hat. Dinner, the people I love, the ordinary beautiful chaos of an evening at home. Same as you.
But I go to bed knowing I got to witness something today. A woman remembering she’s worth celebrating. I don’t take that lightly – not for one single day.

It’s not always glamorous. There’s a lot of coffee and a lot of editing and a fair amount of pillow-fluffing. But at the center of all of it is you – and the moment you realize the woman you’ve been waiting to become has been here the whole time.
If reading this made you a little curious…I’d love to chat.
Xoxo,
Allison
